Grandma Faherty was more then A Grandma to me she was A Friend. A few days after Grandma passed. I went to her grave site and sat alone, I took a Byron Tigers cushion out of my trunk and a boom box. I sat down by the big old oak tree where Grandma and Grandpa are buried. I listened to Clint Black on the boom box using a cassette (Clint Black was one of Grandmas favorite singers) I must of sat there for about one hour, When all of a sudden It started to sprinkle. I think the rain drops were My Grandmas way of telling me its okay to cry. I picked a few of the flowers that where left at Grandmas grave, that still had a little life in them to take home and put in a vase. While walking back to the car I noticed A lady bug on my hand. And I blew it off. Then I put the flowers on my passenger seat.
When all of a sudden Ladybugs start flying every where in the car.
I had ladybugs all over me. All I could do is roll down the windows.
It was at this very moment. That I realized this was just one way for Grandma to let me know she will always be with me one way or another. Grandma Faherty always Loved Ladybugs and I Know they were her favorite bug. As a child I grew up knowing this and Grandma always told me how special Ladybugs are and to always set them free when we saw one. When my children were young and even as they got older she made sure they knew all about the special beauty of A Ladybug. I can remember many times her telling them about the special love Ladybugs send us and to always set them free, especial when you find them in the house. Grandma would catch the Ladybug. Open the door, and say “Fly away home Ladybug!! Fly away home.”
One time in particular I can remember being in the motor home up at lakes late at night. Grandma saw a Ladybug in the motor home and got up out of her warm blankets to set it free outside.
It was that day after visiting Grandma at the grave site that my life changed.
I’m glad I was able to share my True Story with all of you. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it and sharing it.
My Grandma Faherty passed Oct 2nd 1998.
Love, Patsy-AKA-Ladybug
What a Gorgeous day to play in the leaves!
Austin and Taylor had so much fun running, jumping, rolling and throwing the leaves at Grandma. With all the smiles and giggles I felt wonderful with the time we had today.
I wish I could have moments like I had with them today every day of my life. The times I have with them are one of the greatest reasons for living.
I hope everyone in the world can enjoy moments like this. Sometimes when I struggle with whats happening to me now. Having a day like today will put a spark back in my life. My two grandkids just playing and having fun gave me the spark in needed today.
By posting this moment here and sharing it with the world, I hope too help somone else that might need a spark in their life.
There are lot of things I want to write on here so many that I am having trouble deciding on what topics to write about. So I figured I would just ramble on about what is going on today.
Today My daughter Melissa dropped off Taylor my 4 year old granddaughter to spend some time while she goes to a Dr appointment. Taylor is a very special and happy little girl. I think she is so beautiful. She is my little sweetheart and grandmas helper. She really enjoys playing with all of her horses. Most of all she loves to play in the sink. So I push a chair up to the sink and put a bowl in the bottom of it and let her fill it with water. She always wants a little soap so she drips usually more then she needs into the bowl and makes bubbles. She sometimes plays like this in the sink for hours and will take a few of her horses and put them into the sink full of bubbles and pretends she is giving them a bath. That is what she is doing at this very moment as I type. I will end this post just the way it is and spend some time with Taylor. I’m hoping to get a picture of her playing in the sink before she is done.
After Taylor finally finished playing in the sink she was was spoiled with one of Grandpa’s special Jello treats. Then the little sweetheart fell asleep and thats what she is doing Right Now.
I thank Ben and my Sister Stacy for posting comments. I truly do enjoy and appreciate them, I am looking forward to many more in the future.
